Was a poll really necessary?

And I refuse to answer anything until you explain to me why the guy who bursts into flame has Swim as a class skill.

It doesn't seem particuarly under/overpowered. However, I agree with Forester that a Swim as a class skill seems a little wonky. Also, I noticed that there are no prereqs to taking the class.

Oh crap. I forgot to put that in there. Actually, there's only one prerequisite. You have to be a fire genasi. However, the prestige race could be easily modified to allow any creature with an ancestory of fire.

I'll go add that in.

EDIT: Oops. I forgot about something. There's actually two prerequisites. The second is the base attack bonus requirement. I updated the writeup if you want to take a look.

It wasn't unnecessary. Its a cool way to get some quick input, and if anyone wants to offer more input than a mouse-click, they can. Kinda gives ya' more options.

Two reasons.
1) I tried to keep it simple and used the same skill set as the fighter, as it is still a fighter-type prestige race. Keeping it combat oriented is the goal from the get-go.

2) There is no inherent fear of water unless the character is in their alternate form, and the majority of the character's time will likely not be spent in the alternate form anyway (it's difficult to hang with your buddies at the inn and not set it on fire when your body is wreathed in flames :D).

Well, if it comes down to that, they should be able of swimming in Lava or Magma. Even though I would think that their personality makes them disdain water (even though, not as much as the aquafobics in Terry Pratchetts book). Thats, bwt, a fun book if you want a little inspiration for how scared of water some people can be....

Anyways, I liked the Race Class. Even though I still prefer your Ice Focus thing :)

When they become immune to fire damage, they can. Otherwise, its gonna hurt. :D

Well, the idea is that you aren't born like this, so you grew up being just fine with water. You may not be a big fan of swimming in it, but you sure aren't terrified of bathing in it.

Thanks. :) I'm thinking of converting the Ice Focus over to this format though.

Heh, you don't know my game group. Give them something like this and they will want to spend all their time wreathed in flames. :D

In fact, you might want to build in a time limit on that ability

Kinda makes me think of the Ogre-Magi in my group... I think he's visible less than 10 minutes every day.
