Most of us have read the netbooks, but what are some of the practical jokes YOU have pulled-off in a game? Here was last night's 2nd ed practical joke:
Our party members are still in their stages of learning and the wizards attend the local college and the fighters train in the yards. One of our wizards is kind of an outcast and "doesn't play well with others"... so he attends parties in the poorer parts of town. At one of these parties, someone makes the mistake of telling him, "If you don't like it, there's the door."
So he took the door.
At the Magic School he mounts the door on a wall in a dorm hallway and casts Nystal's Mystical Aura. The Door (not reported as missing to the upper-class magic users) has suddenly become a mysterious "new room of extradimentional space".
You open it, there is just a wall. The other side is a mittens. Yet it sure as hell is a door. Detect magic reveals it is magical... "Now what kinda spell..."
The funny thing about this 1st lvl spell which they probably DID learn is that one does not consider the possibility that their eyes, and training are deceiving them. They think, "If it is magic, then what kind of magic is it?" rather than, "Is it magical at all?"
After a while, a crowd of 20 students stand before this door convinced that there is something beyond rather than wondering why it's there... all trying to crack it.
