price of last issue of Dragon and Dungeon

First Post
I just saw the last issue of both Dragon and Dungeon in my local bookstore and they were both $10.99. I haven't bought either in a while, but isn't that a lot more expensive than usual? I seem to remember them being more like $7 or $8 an issue. In any case, I won't buy either for that price. Thanks for price gouge... :\

For Dungeon, normal price = 7.99 for 98 pages = 0,081 dollars per page

For final issue Dungeon, new price = 10.99 for 130 pages = 0,084 dollars per page. EDIT: Also a poster map included.

I don't find that price gouging, but hey, that's just me.

Both magazines were going for $8.00 an issue for about a year, I think. Also, both of the final issues were about 30 pages longer than the standard issues. Granted that comes out to an extra $1.00 per 10 pages, but there's also a larger than usual poster/map to be considered.

Sure, it might be a bit of a sting for those of us without subscriptions, but it's a solid issue with some fun articles. Considering how much I feel I owe to Paizo for some great material in the past few years, a few extra bucks doesn't bother me. I can understand why it might bother someone else, of course.

No, the price on those mags have had larger AND smaller issues without price changes. Also on the time the price has changed for special issues, it was not a 3 dollar fluctuation.

They were the last issues, they were going to sell, Piazo jumped the price because odf this. They have plausible deniably by claiming the excuse of magazine size, but I ain't buying that line.

Mind you, I did buy the issue.

They're also both considerably larger than normal, hence the price increase.

I didn't notice that they were any larger than normal. And the posters I can do without. Oh well, I was mainly interested out of a sense of nostalgia.

It was a price gouge.

This is quite the compliment to the Paizo folks, because it implies that their magazine is a necessity, rather than a pleasure item. Of course, it also implies that there is some imminent disaster, and that Paizo is taking advantage of that disaster to force poor consumers to pay more for this essential magazine than they normally would.

Are you calling 4e a disaster already?

I'm sure that they are counting on everyone wanting a copy as a collector's item.

No, the End of Dungeon magazine in print is the disaster.
