Half a surge value is quite a bit of damage for the soulfang items, though. I wonder how it works in play.

THere is a weapon or two in AV1 which does damage to the wielder. Berzerker weapons or Bloodclaw weapons - one of those.

It's the bloodclaw weapon. It is also rather brokenly powerful when used with a two-hander.
