Prone Threat?

Kannik

Legend
Greets all...

For the life of me I cannot remember where I think I read this. Does someone who is prone threaten the area around them? They don't lose their Dex Bonus, they can attack at a -4, and getting up doesn't provoke an AoO. But while on their back, often pointed in the wrong direction, do they get AoO's against others? So...

Could you trip someone, then disarm them next action sans AoA?

Could you trip someone, then move back a full move sans AoA?

For some reason I thought that they don't threaten, but now I'm not so sure... }:)

Thanks,

Yes, they threaten the area around them, just with a -4 to hit. And as for being "on thie back, often pointed in the wrong direction", remember that there's supposedly no facing in 3e. Imagine the prone guy spinning around and around, threatening the area around him :D
