Punisher of the Gods ?

Are people playing this or in the general forum is it treated as broken and people dont use it.
Besides abusing it with special combo's is it abuse just using it normally, would be interested to hear everyone's views.

The problem with your question, at least to me, is that people pick paths based on what will benefit them the most. This naturally sets up combos.

Given that basic method, yes, the punisher of the gods epic destiny does tend to cause unusually high-powered characters compared to other epics.

If someone were to play certain things though, and somehow think that the title of that Epic Destiny were enough to make them cool, then yes, it may yield a basic character progression that would probably come across as boring or useless.

I'll admit that part of me suspects that when my games hit epic I may have to design new epic destinies for all the PCs, as many of the current ones have serious issues.

Though thankfully I avoid the most stupid stuff if I just stop the game at 29th, say.

Oh come on. If you've already played for 29 levels, you may as well do that 1 last level and let the players do stupid stuff for a little while; they earned it, right? Plus, come on, they're level 30!

Totally agree... If you have played all the way from 1 - 29... and then not let me play lvl 30 for a day or two? I'd be finding me a new DM lol... sorry, but Let em have their fun, for next week they are wimps again hehe

Eh, some of the level 30 things are literally stupid - of almost no matter, while others are enough to break any combat. I don't see that there would be any need at all to play at that level for any combat that matters to the game itself, if using broken destinies.

With ones that weren't broken, sure, or if perhaps doing a 'return to the Shire and tromping Saruman' type action, perhaps. Just for silliness.

What is Punisher of the Gods? (OK, I gather it's an epic destiny, but I couldn't have guessed that from the original post.) What book/magazine issue is it from? What do you think is borked about it?

If you include the answers to questions like these when you ask the question, you have a much better chance of getting useful responses.

We don't have a lot of rules here. One of them -- maybe the biggest -- can probably be summed up as "don't be a jerk." Only 'jerk' may not be the word I'd use. Now, how many folks think they may have already violated this rule in a darned short thread?
