[Puzzle] Fantastic Four Style

Quickleaf

Legend
I am making a "solo" puzzle with a fey theme where the PCs are lost in the Witchlight Fens with several rescued children in tow looking for a witch's coven (she'll help provide children sanctuary from pursuing redcoat soldiers).

The PCs enter a firefly filled clearing with the collapsed armor/tabards of a squad of redcoat soldiers, as if their bodies evaporated. At some point the PCs are polymorphed into beasts by faerie magic, the type of beast depending on their role (controller--> raven, defender--> toad, leader--> cricket, striker--> mole). There's a hidden treasure with important information that will aid the PCs's quest somewhere in the clearing, a treasure the redcoats had been looking for. However, to access the treasure they've got to use their animal gifts together as a team...Fantastic Four style.

Essentially it becomes a logic puzzle where "mole can't see, so she needs to be guided by cricket, but cricket can't reach the high place, so he needs to be flown by raven, but raven can't get the key in the pond, so she needs toad to swim in, but toad can't break through the mud wall, so he needs mole..."

Or something along those lines. That's where I need help...what sorts of situations can I put the polymorphed PCs that will make a good puzzle? what animal gifts/weaknesses can I play to?

The catch is there's a time limit because the sprites begin playing with the children and will try to abduct them, charming the PCs horses, using enticing fireflies, etc.

If they can't solve the puzzle in time the children are abducted and the PCs don't get the treasure.

If they solve the puzzle they get the treasure and save the children.

If they also show good faerie etiquette they gain the sprites as guides to the next encounter, allowing them to surprise their enemy.

No matter the outcome, they regain their "human" forms after the puzzle ends.
