Query: Common Non-Mythical Beastiary

Hello everyone and good day or evening to you all.

So my query is has there ever been a book or pdf that deals with the common non-mythical creatures for use in say a post-apocalypse game where a majority of humanity has ended leaving said creatures to retake many of the once human cities.

Or say for use in a biological or chemical event that maybe would then mutate them following a specific or house-ruled rules for say like a Resident Evil scenario.

- Run a search on Dougal Dixon (author) and Future Evolution (title) for some ideas.
- Early editions of Gamma World have some post-apocalyptic beasties you can re-stat. Find the vol2 (1983?) rulebook if you can.
- The Future Is Wild (BBC miniseries) also might inspire you. Again, you will have to create the mechanics and stats.

Monster/creature rules tend to be very system specific, so I'd kind of have to know what system you are planning on running.

If you are talking about D20 rules system, Betabunny's 'Beastiary: The Predators' is the best resource for D20 mundane creatures. You can use that as a starting point for creating mutant monsters.

After Man is an interesting coffee table book that looks at what critters might exist after a few more million years of evolution.

It may be the basis for The Future is Wild.
