Quick AOO question

Can you make attacks of opportunity while denied your dex bonus? My first thought would be no, as you can't make AOOs when flatfooted. If, however, I'm wrong, please let me know. And, if I'm right, a page number listing where it says so would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing prevents you making an AoO just because you are denied your Dex bonus.

The description of flat-footed specifically says you can't make AoOs. You won't find a passage in the PHB that says you can't make an AoO when denied Dex bonus, but neither will you find one that says you can't make an AoO while standing on one leg.

Essentially, unless something says it prevents AoOs, it doesn't.

Rule-wise, I agree with Hypersmurf. However, I have my doubts about some situations.

Ex) You can't see the person provoking the AoO and are denied dex to them. Rule-wise, you get your AoO, but I don't agree with it.

Ex) You are grappled and some one provokes an AoO. Rule-wise you get an AoO, but I wonder. I suppose if you have a light weapon out that you can use... Should there be a grapple check before the AoO?

Hey guys...thanks.

Can someone quote me the page where it says that Flanked opponents do NOT get AoO.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks, I was thinking (its early) that someone above said that flanked characters don't get AoO's. I think i mentally saw "flanked" where it said Flat-footed. My bad. Thanks again.
