Quick Metaspell like Ability question (Warlocks)

Um, okay, everyone says "take Meta-spell like feats!" for warlocks, but by the rules in the Monster manual, you can't actually USE it for your Eldritch Blasts... What exactly am I reading/doing wrong?

(By the way, I'm not actually playing a warlock atm, but I know a few people who are)

Wait, why can you not?
The Eldritch Blast is a spell-like ability, and the Meta-spell-like feats apply to spell like abilities.

Because you can only Maximize a spell of your level/2, -2, which is lower than your eldritch blast, which is level/2...

Ah, Eldritch Blast was updated in the CArc errata to be a 1st level spell equivalent.
Without the errata, you're completely correct.

Ah! Thanks, that's actually what I remembered but the warlock players wouldn't agree with me (well, I remembered it actually BEING in CArc, but oh well)

Without the errata, you're completely correct.

Also, if you apply a essence or blast shape to your EB, the level of your EB rises to whatever the level is of that essence or blast shape (if using both at the same time, I beleive it is the highest of the two). This would help when trying to penetrate things like a Glob of Invul.
