Quick planning session

Alright, so here's the quickie synopsis of what happens tonight. Folks, you may not care to read this, as this is more for my own edification than to really ask for help. Of course, if you have suggestions, I'll certainly take them.

The group is going to spend about a month in Seaquen, because they didn't realize they could get the equipment they need so quickly. At the end of the month they're going to teleport to talk to Yvonnel, but in the meanwhile, what might happen?

Well, they said they wanted to teleport around a bit to throw off scrying attempts. Perhaps it's not necessary, because they have antiscrying devices, but they're going to do it anyway. So what's going on that they could see?

Ragesia -- Lots of inquisitors, battle lines drawn through the burned down Innenotdar Fire Forest, with the Seelae in hiding. Dasseni armies have marched in and built a wall along the northern border, though many have died due to the winter. Temperatures are consistently below 0, and the fey are the only things alive. The wall is there to keep out Leska's forces, who will want to march south to destroy Lyceum.

Dassen -- Land war near the Otdar fortresses. Steppengard has sent a few expert low-level thugs to pursue the party, with the aid of a Wayfarer. Just a bunch of skilled rogues with a sentient field mouse diviner.

Leyland -- Not much has been heard from them, because the rebellion against the local holding armies has turned very very bloody. Only one city is not yet on fire or burned down, and all the bridges through the swamps have been destroyed, ruining travel and supply lines.

I'm not familiar with the campaign world, so a couple of generic comments. Hope it helps.....

Obviously, if they're that worried about someone scrying for them, then they have an enemy out there who has the capability--or the capability to hire someone to scry for them.

Do the scrying devices prevent their detection, or merely mislead their detectors?

Here's a rather interesting ploy that could result in some campaign tweaks:

Say I'm an NPC hunting for someone who routinely uses anti-scrying devices and is constantly on the move. Instead of continuing to hunt for the target, I start hunting for the "signatures" given off by anti-scrying devices. In short, I set up a series of detectors to identify "people holes" walking through the detection field. As soon as I have one, BAM! Pop in with enough force to obtain whatever it is that I'm after.

Only I'm not after the players.......they just triggered my net. After a couple of rounds I'm likely to realize this and back off.

Who do I work for? Perhaps some country, or mage cabal....basically I'm part of an organization going after those sneaky no-good types who are always trying to hide from legitimate law enforcement.

The other concept to play with is that the enemy, while not able to detect where the players ARE, has been able to identify where they WILL BE. Ie, they have identified where the players have to go to pick up their new equipment. An ambush is waiting.....
