Ranger/Druid/Wolflord question

I am playing a 3.5 campaign with a few friends and I trying out a very nature friendly build that is meant more for role-play than optimization. The group is a halfling rogue, a grey elf wizard, a human swordsage, and my ranger/druid. As you can see we lack a divine spellcaster and a main tank. My ranger is focused on Archery and my animal companion is a wolf. We are having some issues against boss fights because if we can't out-damage the boss the swordsage expires leaving no true melee force. Anyway my question is should I forgo the PrC and level druid to try and balance out the party? I don't really want to because I think my build is pretty sweet and because the swordsage talks about how his character is so much better than the other characters because he can do 5d6 of fire damage by flicking his sword. Any help/insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like you need a wand of cure light wounds. Last thing you want is to lock up your spell slots with healing spells. Filling your spell slots with offensive magic is almost always more efficient as a means of reducing damage taken.
