AI/LLMs RealmTorch - Campaign Manager and VTT

First Post
Hi everyone,

I’m a longtime Dungeon Master, and over the years I’ve ended up using a mix of campaign notes, spreadsheets, random generators, map tools, VTTs, character records, lore documents, and various other apps just to keep my large campaign running.

Through out game nights I decided to build the kind of tool I actually wanted to use myself.

RealmTorch is a new web-based campaign manager and virtual tabletop for tabletop RPGs, built primarily from the GM’s side of the screen.

The goal is to give GMs one place to build, organize, and run a campaign without having to scatter everything across several different services.

Some of what RealmTorch currently includes:

  • Campaign, character, NPC, location, item, faction, quest, and lore management
  • Session to Song: Use the Bard's Songsmith to create the lyrics to Bard Song's about your game session. Then just put them into your favorite Song Generator to create Bardic music about your adventures!
  • A built-in early-beta VTT with maps, tokens, scenes, initiative, and encounter tools
  • Adventure, session, and campaign-planning tools
  • Campaign calendars and custom calendar systems to create for your own Realm
  • Random generators for treasure, shops, weather, names, events, fumbles, death blows, pregnancy and other GM needs
  • Player access to campaign and character information
  • Image and asset management
  • Character artwork generation
  • Tools aimed at supporting large, long-running campaigns rather than just one-shot encounters

I’m also expanding RealmTorch beyond a single rules system. D&D is naturally a major focus, but I’m working toward deeper support for systems such as Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Daggerheart, and Shadowdark, with the idea that the campaign-management side should remain useful regardless of what system you run.

RealmTorch is now entering its early beta stage, and this is where I’d really like experienced GMs to start putting it through its paces.

I’m especially interested in the kind of feedback you only get from actually trying to run a campaign with something:

What becomes annoying after a few sessions?
What is missing?
What do you find yourself using constantly?
What looks useful but turns out not to matter?

That kind of feedback is much more valuable to me right now than simply hearing that the site looks good. There is a free tier that will give you access to the platform to run a Campaign with and import your own documentation of your Realm.

I also run Tabletop Tunes, a YouTube channel where I create long-form fantasy ambience, bard songs, and other music specifically for tabletop games.

That project and RealmTorch really came from the same place: I kept finding things I wanted for my own games, so I started making them.

Tabletop Tunes:

RealmTorch is still being refined, and I expect parts of it to change quite a bit as people start using it in real campaigns.

If you give it a try, I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback, positive or negative and I’m happy to answer questions about the platform, the current feature set, or where I’m planning to take it.

Thanks for taking a look.
