Reaper - S01-E14 - Rebellion (Spoilers)

Steve (guest star Michael Ian Black) and Tony (guest star Ken Marino) tell Sam (Bret Harrison) they want to exploit Sam's relationship with the Devil (Ray Wise) to lure the Devil into a trap where the other demons can then destroy him.

Ted (Donovan Stinson) asks Sock's (Tyler Labine) permission to ask Josie (Valarie Rae Miller) out on a date. Thinking she'll never say yes, Sock agrees, but when Josie agrees to go out with Ted, Sock decides to win her back.

Missy Peregrym, Rick Gonzalez and Andrew Airlie also star.

Kevin Dowling directed the episode written by Kevin Murphy & Craig DiGregorio.

So, what did you think of this episode?

I found it very entertaining and fun!

The demons tried their Rebellion and it... utterly failed. No real surprise here. ;)
I think it's still noticeable that Sam still maintains his sense of decency and morals. He didn't take the easy way out. Maybe, now that he knows the Devils "weakness", he can do something? Or maybe it's just enough staying who he is?
Let's just hope that the Demon Vengeance will not cost him too much...

Andi and Sam? Will this work out? His sudden call to the Rebellion wasn't exactly... fortunate.
Sock and Josie getting back together? How long can this hold? (And poor Ted...)

But the Devil, was, once again, the best. Who would have thought the devil felt true love and likes Banana Splits... ;)

I did like this episode, although I thought the resolution of the rebellion was a little fast. Looks like Tony and Steve won't be around much anymore, at least in their neighbor role.

They really dolled up Andi when she came over Sam's place! Wow.

Still really enjoying this show though. The Devil was great. Sock had some good screen time as well.

A very good episode. The writing is very balanced....the show keeps it's weekly style format...while at the same time not falling into the (E)X -File trap of splitting the audience between those that like Monster of the Week and those that want more Arc episodes....the monster of the week was brief, and the Arc for the most part resolved.

The Devil remains an ambiguous figure. Ruthless....yes! Complete evil.....jury is out. One of my complaints before the show came back was the Devil was feeling almost too nice, but since the show has come back, the bastard factor has gone up :)

This episode also throws doubt on if Sam is special....clearly he is, but the question becomes in the characters mind, does the Devil use Sam because of his trusting and generally nice guy demeanor to infiltrate those areas the Devil would not have access to.

The balance of the show is well done....it aims to feel like a light hearted comedy, will having an engaging story line, dealing with topics that can come back to burn them and are of themselves inherently weighty, and fun characters.

Um, that's the wrong episode description you have there, that looks like next Tuesday's episode.

The demon rebellion was an interesting little plot, especially since it was more important than the week's escaped soul. The writers did a good job of setting it up over the last few episodes too. The whole "12 step program" approach was amusing, and seeing the demons acting gleeful about being nice cause it will weaken the devil was funny. Tony revealing his full demon form was cool too. I knew about halfway through that the devil was pulling everyone's strings and that confrontation at the end was great. I think the devil might have even been amused at Sam's willingness to help the demons bring him down.
