Remember adventure games?

One of these days I should track down the Nine Princes in Amber text adventure (with art!). I was too young at the time, I think, to "get it".

Oh wow, I didn’t know this existed! I wonder where in the Pattern it can be found…

My first great computer game love was Conquest of the Longbow, and my favourite genre was adventure games. But I think that was mainly because they focused on story and characters. The gameplay parts (mainly puzzles and walking around) wasn’t what drew me. Later I discovered that other kinds of games (Baldur’s Gate, StarCraft etc.) could also do story and characters. Now I think I get a similar kick out of something like Hades that adventure games gave me back then.
