Somehow, while trying to post a new thread, I accidentally posted a new and incomplete thread as well. Without renaming this erroneous thread, or asking for its deletion, I propose we consider what I accidentally asked.*

Has anyone repurposed AV equipment for gaming?

One thing I've seen is putting a projector beneath an appropriate gaming surface then using a computer to show the map and so forth that way.

Gaming is actually quite a niche hobby, and people who use computers to do it is an even smaller niche. Once you factor in the internal splintering (gaming software needs to be at least somewhat specialized for different games) and consider the number of people who would rather build their setup themselves, the market for true gaming software suite is downright tiny.
