Man, I was all excited when I saw the title. I thought I was going to be able to go out and buy a box of nightgaunt, elder thing, flying polyp, etc minis and re-base them for use in Arkham Horror games and lovecraftian d&d campaigns. But alas, it's cheesy movie monsters. Maybe they'll have some good zombies...

Is it a sign of being too big a dork when you immediately associate the word 'horror' with Lovecraft?

How would you rate the appearance of the figs and overall construction? While this may be to much of a niche to survive for long as a clix game I imagine it could have some legs as a collectible product given licensing deals or as fodder for modern monster minis.

I saw the figures at Comic-Con; they looked pretty good. Cthulhu was da bomb, of course, but the rest were good too. I'm looking forward to it. :)

Well, come to GenCon and you can buy the HorrorClix Cthulhu fig. I think it's $80 MSRP.

I think it's life depends exactly on how well it sells - if it doesn't, I can see it getting yanked quick, but if if does okay, I imagine Topps will stick with it.

I saw all the figure sculpts at Wizard World Philadephia. Some of the sculpts are great. The mummy, for example, is coming out of his sarcophogus. Some are pretty weird (oddly enough, a lot of the stuff in the demo kits). If you get to play a demo, try to find someone with the full demo kit (6 figures). I have that one and it has a full size map, instead of these really tiny ones.

I think this one WizKids will stick with unless it does horribly. The games WizKids has been dropping with their big shakeup all had high licensing fees (I heard NASCAR CSG was doing very well, but the licensing fees were a killer).

The only licensing with this game are the special sendaway kits. So far there is the Cthulhu sendaway and there will be Alien and later Predator giveaways tied into to their "buy it by the brick" promotion.

Is there a list and or pictures of the mini's in the set anywhere on the web?

Certainly not on their site. I'd have thought with the game being shown at the cons that they'd have the figure gallery up by now, but no-go. I might pick some individuals up when I can finally see what they look like.
