Paizo ROTR encounter dilemma(spoilers for book 1)

Note: system is Savage Pathfinder but as this is mostly a pacing issue, system isn't really significant.

So my PCs are currently in the Glassworks. Unfortunately, pacing wise, they went through the storage area and ignored the upstairs entirely. Now, they are standing right outside the doors leading to Ameiko and Tsuto. So, I could let them open the doors, rescue Ameiko, beat the crap out of the bad guy. A bit boring but there you go. They'll still have to fight the goblins upstairs which would be a bit anti-climactic. Or they could just leave, having beat the villain and rescued the "maiden'. And no one will ever know what happened to their father.

Or I could have Tsuto wake up and run upstairs and wait where he has backup but it might make the fight too hard, combining them.

Or icould have a surviving goblin run upstairs and get reinforcements but then I have a dozen figures fighting in a closet.

Any suggestions?

How about just have thete be no goblins upstairs. And have the person rescued tell the party that there are some important items upstairs or so. So they can get them afterwards (without the anti climatic fight)

Well, they know about the goblins upstairs since on pc climbed up and saw them through the skylight. I could cheat a bit and expand the basement (enlarging the size of the shoebox or I could really cheat and move Ameiko and Tsuto into the Catacombs of Wrath.

They then could also see the gpbl

They could also then see the goblins flee. Like they want to come to help the big bsd, bur come to late and habe no reason to fight and flee
