• WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? This Kickstarter campaign page promises the intersection of Mörk Borg, CY_BORG, and Mothership plus faster-than-light travel and ship-to-ship combat. Imagine the feel of the end of the universe and rocketing towards that final frontier, in a sense. This touches on some of the same space (ha!) as Vast Grimm, but goes a different direction. If you’re a fan of faster-than-light Borg, this may be for you.

Shallow Graves: Cult of the Moon Spider for Tombpunk RPG from Deeply Dapper’s Octopress Publishing

• WHY SPOTLIGHT THIS CAMPAIGN? This campaign brings stick figure miniatures, new TOMBPUNK adventures, and a reprint of the core rulebook. TOMBPUNK RPG’s history is an active story about a small, indy RPG with several publishers and a game license across the last decade. Alan Bahr created this game for his Gallant Knight Patreon before licensing it to Outland Entertainment. I interviewed Jeremy D. Mohler of Outland when they ran a Kickstarter in December 2020 to revise, re-draw, layout, and print the TOMBPUNK core rulebook. Their work was in-line with standard, well laid out designs. After Outland’s license lapsed, Octopress Publishing acquired the TOMBPUNK RPG and set about revamping the visuals and layout of the game. Kristopher Neal McClanahan’s artwork and layouts revised the core rulebook into an homage to Johan Nohr (MÖRK BORG) style. In September 2023, Octopress ran a Kickstarter which raised nearly 6x times as much as the game did 3 years before. They delivered the game earlier this year and, in November 2025, Octopress is kickstarting this game again along with a new adventure book. Why head back to the well? Unfortunately, some of the original print run of books had binding issues and Octopress wanted to replace the defective copies with new stock from another printer, which is the right decision. Unfortunately, that level of customer service takes money. So, they’re pitching a new book and a better print run of the core rulebook in a win-win for all TOMBPUNK fans.

It Comes From the Deep! | Pirate Borg from Steven Gibbs

I'm still a DH sceptic, but a third party Daggerheart Campaign book just outfunded the Gary Gygax Memorial Kickstarter within a day. I find that a little nuts.

It raised less than half of what the 5e version did in the same first day. Still good for DH, just to put it in perspective.

There are two factors for this imo 1) how many people know about the campaign to begin with, the Dudes being popular YTers probably makes quite a bit of difference there, 2) how many people donate to something altruistic vs buying a product they want / are interested in

I have no room for miniatures in my home at all, but I find stick figure minis (which isn't a terribly accurate term, honestly) are just so damned charming.

Massive YouTube following with 3 previous $1M+ Kickstarters to their name. As I always say when it comes to these things, reach is more important than anything.

Yeah, it is an interesting case study, being a funding project not from Critical Role themselvss, but from another popular creative team. Amd it is doing well for what it is.
