The Wild Hunt for Call of Cthulhu by Stygian Fox Publishing

(Campaign Ends : Thursday 1st March 2018; 17:22 UTC)

Stygian Fox Publishing have been producing some fantastic books in recent years, including the Gold ENnie winning The Things We Leave Behind for Call of Cthulhu. There latest Kickstarter offering sees them return to Call of Cthulhu, and the 1920’s, with The Wild Hunt – that takes the characters across New England, from New York to Boston, to “thwart an ancient horror and a very modern evil.”/hq]

The Wild Hunt is an ancient Celtic myth about a force that rampages through the countryside: killing evil-doers and causing havoc.

But what if there is a certain truth behind it?

Breaking off from the main Irish rebel organisation, a splinter group has discovered a means of summoning the Wild Hunt to do their bidding and aid them in their criminal enterprise.

Except it has not gone to plan. Their binding knowledge is poor and the entities of the Wild Hunt strain against their bonds. The splinter group is holding a hungry tiger by the tail and can only keep the Hunt busy lest it turn on them. They seek out the Investigators and endeavour to strike a devil's bargain; help them end or control the monsters, or see them create a bloodbath the likes the North-East of America has never seen.

Can the rebel group be trusted?
Can the Investigators walk away and live with their decision?
Can the Wild Hunt be controlled? And by whom?

It is time for you to find out!

Taking its inspirational cues from Celtic myth, classic monsters, and H.P. Lovecraft, the book takes a mature look at the horror of Mythos interpretations by historic cultures and will also summarise the tragedy of terrorism, self-determination, and their links to organised crime. There will also be information on how Celtic cultures in Britain and Ireland re-interpret the mythos to fit their cultural narrative and, as the subjects within can be sensitive for many, this book is for mature gamers only.

RPG – Castles & Crusades Monsters & Treasures by Stephen Chenault
(Campaign Ends : Wednesday 14th February 2018; 04:00 UTC)

Castles & Crusades has been around for the last fourteen years, and spawned dozens of books, many of which included new monsters, and treasures, dwarfing those included in their original Monsters & Treasures sourcebook. This campaign aims to round up many (see below) of the monsters from the C&C library and house them together in one massive reference book.

“This is what we have in mind: Monsters & Treasure, Classic Monsters, Mystical Companions, published adventures like Shadows of a Halfling Hall (looking at you, Bag-o-Bones!), Amazing Adventures Manual of Monsters, Codex Celtarum, Codex Germania, Codex Nordica, Codex Classicum, Codex Slavorum, Haunted Highlands and all the other manifold publications where monsters creep and crawl, fly and charge from the pages and put them into one monstrous Full Color book.”

What about the Monsters & Treasure of Aihrde? This book will remain its own publication. Though the monsters in it are designed for everyday use, it is tied to the massive Aihrde world setting (Codex of Aihrde and the Players Guide to Aihrde). These need to remain in a book with ease of access for those who brave to adventure in the Lands of Ursal.

What about Tome of the Unclean? This book will also remain its own stand-alone product. We prefer to keep the filth of hell and unhinged chaos of the Abyss in their own realm, to be pulled out when your table slides into the madness of those insane worlds.

Mythology Manual – Fae, Deities & Shamanism – Pathfinder & d20 by Ty Hulse
(Campaign Ends : Wednesday 21st February 2018; 23:37 UTC)

The Mythology Manual uses actual mythology and folklore to provide players and GMs new options for playing deities, fairies, and shamans, and help you understand their world “from a time when people gossiped about encountering the magical world the way we might discuss encountering a celebrity.”

With this book the GM will be able to create new rich adventures, and NPC’s for the characters to overcome, meet, and befriend. PC's will also be given more ways to interact with the world in which they play, through new options, and ways of thinking of their surroundings.

In addition to helping you expand the worlds in which you already play, this book can help you to develop your own world. Either way, this book will be different from most Manuals and Guides, because it will use quotes from actual myths and tales to explain the different creatures within.

Ancient peoples believed that nearly everything had a cause that the fortunes and misfortunes, and even the strange behaviors of humanity occurred because of magical creatures that inhabited everything. Known by many names these faeries, fey, good folk, spirits, etc would help inspire artists, cause cows to grow ill, or make winter come early.

Inside the book you’ll find information you need to play witches and shamans, a monster manual and guide to playing dozens of different fairies, integrate true mythology surrounding deities into your game making it easier to include deities as PCs and NPCs in your game, and break down some of the more interesting cosmologies from mythology, such as a person could step off the hunting path, or walk around a larger tree three times, and find themselves in the spirit worlds.

Dungeon Delve #1: Tower of the Black Sorcerers by R. Nelson Bailey
(Campaign Ends : Wednesday 14th February 2018; 22:00 UTC)

Tower of the Black Sorcerers is specifically designed for 1st Edition D&D but can be used for 2nd Edition, Labyrinth Lord, OSRIC, Swords & Wizardry, Pathfinder, DCC, and many more fantasy games.

The black sorcerers have dwelled within their baleful tower for hundreds of years. Now something evil stirs in the town of Bal-Curz — strange happenings of malefic magics and persons disappearing in the night. The fearful townsfolk whisper that its source stems from the Black Tower. Possibly a few bold heroes could Investigate the tower to uncover its secrets and put an end to this unseen terror?

The module is 24 pages and designed to have the look and feel of the classic Dungeons & Dragons modules of the early to mid-1980s. Intended for 5 to 7 characters, of 5th to 8th levels, the adventure “will explore a tower inhabited by a cabal of sorcerers. Set in a town, the DM can easily place this tower in an urban location in any fantasy role-playing game world they prefer.”

The module features a cut-away map of the tower, a map f the tower levels, and a dungeon map printed in classic dungeon blue in the inside cover, 27 numbered encounters, adventure background for the DM, scenario hook suggestions, a rumors table, and four new monsters (the balweeg, corodaemon, lammikan, and werepanther).

Dice Bottles – DnD 5e Healing Potion Kit by Jonathan Ross
(Campaign Ends : Friday 2nd March 2018; 01:06 UTC)

I really like the idea, and look, of the Dice Bottles – DnD 5e Healing Potion Kit. Do we really need it? Almost certainly not, but it looks fantastic and on the strength of that is hard to resist. Imagine coming to the gaming table and cracking open your set of Healing Potions for the party to use during the game. Handing the tired, and battered, fighter a vial of red dice to help reinvigorate them and get them back into the thick of the action…

Quick, how many d4s in a Superior Healing Potion? Which is larger, Superior or Supreme? You might know (+1 to your Medicine stat if you do), but you likely have players or DMs who don’t, and with everything else to keep track of while playing D&D, any way to avoid slowing down the battle to hit the Index of the Handbook and hunt down the modifier is a positive for everybody playing.

The Healer’s Kit solves all that. Next time the halfling is stepped on by a giant, the dwarf gets surprised by a mimic, or the druid jumps off a cliff for funsies ending up crumpled in gore on the rocks, you’ll be ready. Simply flip the latch on the box, admire the handiwork, select the proper size potion for the occasion, unscrew the cap, and dump the dice onto the opened lid, it’s also a rolling surface! Add the dice numbers and the right modifier (provided on the underside of the lid) to reveal just how many or few Hit Points you’re getting back.

My goal here is to provide the easiest to use, most glorious potions for everyone. How is that going to happen?

· Bottles that LOOK like potion vials! Some stylish adornments will be on the bottle but not enough to obscure those handsome dice.
· Matching red d4 dice! It’s actually quite hard to get matching d4s, and you’ll have enough to make any potion with d4 dice you might need.
· Professional designs. The ones on the prototypes are ok, but Amber (the most excellent artist) will do way, way better than me!
· Underside of the the lid will be leather, allowing it to double as a dice rolling area!
· The leather of the rolling area will also have the potion requirements etched in, so you’ll never have to crack a handbook for that info again.
· The foam holds everything neatly in place and perfectly spaced, making it easy to keep the potions ordered how you like them.
· 5 Box finish options: Unfinished - Dark colored etch (great for darker stains), Unfinished - Light brown colored etch (great for lighter colored stains), Natural with clear coat, Colonial Maple, and Sedona Red.
· Two suede leather color options for rolling area: Brown and Tan.
