As a big fan of BoardGameGeek already, I'm glad to see this open. I'm really hoping it will pick up the userbase in order to make it as popular as BGG. One of the best parts of the site is that it organizes discussion by product; hopefully, this means in the future if I want to see what people thought of a book I worked on, or a book I want to buy, I'll be able to zoom right in on it. Not that review sites don't already do that, but RPG Geek seems to have the layout/navigation I like best.

I recommend everyone check it out; its greatest strength will be the willingness of its userbase to update it.

The layout is surely not its greatest strength.

But BGG is a cool site, so there is some hope that it will become useful as well. :D

Bye

The organisation by product is absolutely brilliant for many things - especially when I want to buy something, being able to find out people's thoughts on it which don't have to be actual reviews. Writing formal reviews turns many people off, but you can get a lot of info from them as they actually chat about them!

Cheers!

I've browsed bgg many times, but this time created an account ;)

Curious though, am I missing something or can I not rate products yet (maybe as I am a new member)?

But yes, looks good - looking forward to killing more time there ;)

You're missing something. :) New members can certainly rate products!

Go to the "User Information" heading down the bottom of a product's listing. If you own it, click on "Add a copy to your collection" or if you don't, "Record Information". Either will then allow you to rate the game. (They're exactly the same except the first sets the "owned" tag for you!)

Cheers!
