The other night my fiancée TiVoed a thing on the History Channel about Vampires... 2 hour special about the history of them.
The last chunk of the program was about vampires in modern times, and focused very heavily on Vampire: the Masquerade (although exclusively as a LARP, no mention or distinction made about the tabletop version). I'm not sure if it was an old program or if they just didn't want to talk about Requiem...
Anyways, getting back to my point, they talked about two particular cases, one where some kid (I think his last name was Ferrel) ended up going crazy and killing his girlfriend's parents, and one where a reporter dug too deep and disappeared.
However, those stories were interspersed with a discussion of the "vampire subculture," and they made frequent mention of the fact that RPGs are perfectly safe hobbies and are only a problem for people who are already mentally unbalanced.
Granted, this is a far cry from, say, your local Faux News affiliate doing a piece on how D&D improves your vocabulary, but it was nice to see them pay more attention to the positive than the negative and emphasize that the negative was the exception and not the rule.
