RTOEE - How to destroy Ancient Obelisk

I'm running Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (w/ 3.5 upgrade). Players are getting keen to destroy the Ancient Obelisk (Moathouse, area 32) and Undisturbed Secret Shrine (Moathouse, area 34A).

I have no idea what it would take to destroy those objects. Any recommendations?

How about a sliver of Pure Law? Seems that the Obelisk should be Artefact level awesome, but the characters might be too low a level for such...

But here's an idea. How about having a magic sword (axe, hammer, w/e) fit the bill? Give it a name and a history and a guardian and you're good to go... using the magic weapon destroys it in the process, of course.

I think the Undisturbed Secret Shrine has already been destroyed...

Now, it is just the Shrine.

Not familiar with what that is, but Mountain Hammer maneuver from Tome of Battle ignores ALL damage reduction and hardness...
