Scribing a session for future design?

What's the best way to write down what happened in a session to give yourself ideas for the next session?

I usually just use flowcharts, but I don't have a system, exactly.

I just put each PC's name in a bubble, then draw lines from the bubble to the names of other characters, adding "is related to" notes along the lines.
