Sculpt self

Bean 2.0

ok here is an idea for an alternate us of the scuplt self feat

say you have an insect like race that once it becomes this old or gets this many class levels or some thing spins a cocoon and emerges as a bigger badder bug. the big bug will have a higher ECL so they trade in class levels and each level traded in is a week in the cocoon

for example

Taka racial traits

medium size

base speed 30 ft / swim 40

+2 on listen checks

Bite attack (1d4 + str)

Automatic proficiency with Kukris

Favored Class - fighter

auto languages - Common, & Aquan
bonus - Drow sign, Terran, Ignan, & Auran

The takas are elf-sized bugmen bearing great resemblance to the nymph stage of the Dragonfly.

then by trading in 4 class levels become an

O-Taka

+2 dex +2 int

medium size

base speed 30 ft / swim 30 ft / Fly 40 ft Perfect

+2 on listen, and spot checks

bite attack (1d6 + str)

Dark vision 60 ft

Automatic proficiency with kukris

4 monstrous humanoid Hit dice

skill points 8+(int mod*4)

skill list as fighter (except minus ride, and add hide)

Bab +4

ref/wil +4

fort +1

2 feats

favored class - fighter

Auto languages - Common , Aquan, & Auran

O-Takas are basically humanoid dragonflies with a ferocious cunning. They use mincless vermin as pack animal but rarely ride since they can fly.

OK the idea has had some revision

Varient : flexible sculpt self

this may be part of the normal feat or it may require an additional feat (DM's choice)

you may now trade in Charactar levels to become a bigger and/or badder monster.

Here's an example say a Draconic half-orc barbarian wanted to become a full-fledged half-dragon. The Half-Dragon has a +3 level adjusment and the draconic template adds +1. So since most of the draconic template abilities are out done by the Half-dragon the player decides to trade in 2 fighter levels and his draconic template to gain the half-dragon (lets say howling) template.

The Charactar spends three weeks unlearning his barbarian levels and softening his mind and body to dispell the draconic template. Then he spends the next three weeks filling himself with the primal fury and prowess of the howling dragon.

A character may only flexible sculpt if the templates and/or monsters are related fiendish to Half-fiend yes, fire creature to half-water elemental no. Each level traded in is e week spent unlearning it and he is resricted to the same actions as a wizard making a golem (unless the DM decides to throw in little extras such as performing a specific task). Then each level regained in a new form is another week spent changing. So if you trade in three levels in means 6 weeks of meditation and transformation.
