Seeking Advice for a 20th level Cleric

Elephant

First Post
The basics are:
*Gnome
*Cleric
*worships Tymora in the Forgotten Realms
*10 levels of Auspician (luck-focused prestige class from Faiths & Pantheons)

To enter Auspician, I need base saves of +5 Fort, +2 Ref, the Luck domain, and the following feats: Dodge, Great Fortitude, Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes.

The DM has basically said "Anything WOTC is okay, anything outside of that, run it by me."

Any suggestions?

To enter Auspician, I need base saves of +5 Fort, +2 Ref, the Luck domain, and the following feats: Dodge, Great Fortitude, Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes.

Take the Luck and Travel domains. Travel domain gives you the benefit of Freedom of Movement versus magical effects that impede movement for 1 round/Cleric level, which is very useful.

As you're a Gnome, you won't have 4 feats to spend on Dodge, Great Fortitude, Iron Will and Lightning Reflexes until level 9. If your character was Human, you could qualify by level 6 Cleric. In any event, if you're min/maxing, you may want to see what other Cleric prestige classes are available that don't reduce your spellcasting level. I had a look through Complete Divine - there's no appropriate prestige classes there. So maybe just go with Cleric 10/Auspician 10.

Wisdom is your most important ability, so boost that as best you can: start with at least 17 in it, put your 5 ability points into it to get it to 22, and a Periapt of Wisdom +6 gets you to 28 Wisdom. Depending on how much money you have for starting equipment, you could also consider a Tome of Understanding, but those are pretty expensive.

You're a Cleric so you can wear heavy armor, so I'd go for Adamantine Full Plate which gives you DR 3/-, and you only need Dexterity 12 with this to get AC 19, which you could get easily enough with Gloves of Dexterity +2 and starting Dexterity 10. Use a Buckler as your shield, giving another +1 AC, for AC 20. Obviously, get enchanted Full Plate and enchanted Buckler. Full Plate is heavy, so you want reasonable Strength, at least Strength 14. Your movement rate is very slow, 10', so you need either Boots of Striding and Springing or Boots of Speed (for combat speed improvement and bonuses only) to lift your movement rate.

Constitutiona and Charisma are your other important abilities. If you'll be facing undead or want to use the feats that use turn undead uses, then take decent Charisma.

You'll want a one-handed simple weapon, such as a Morning Star, which is nice as it does Bludgeoning or Piercing damage. I would get the Morning Star made of Cold Iron, and I would get it enchanted with the Holy ability to do +2d6 versus Evil creatures.

Oh, I should mention that the DM okay'd flaws from UA, so I can get the feats early, at a cost. Stats are generated using the elite array, and I have four free Wish-generated ability points to add. Also, I can easily afford a Tome of Understanding +5 out of my starting equipment.
