D&D General "Seven Samurai" Scenario

THEMNGMNT

Legend
Do you know of a Seven Samurai-style published adventure or one that could be adapted somewhat easily?

A player in my current 5.5E campaign made a quip about Seven Samurai and the other players thought it sounded awesome. So we're gonna do it.

The five player characters will probably be 4th or 5th level. Setting is the Forgotten Realms in the Dessarin Valley. The opponents will be trolls leading a group of human bandits. The bandits have all drank of troll blood which grants them regenerative powers.

Any help so I don't have to build this whole thing from scratch is much appreciated!

You can steal some of the ideas from the Princes of the Apocalypse campaign book. It takes place in the same valley. They are mostly cultists. Crab some cultists and have them terrorizing the town. Steal from any of the movies.

The after Icespire Peak module Divine Contention has a section where a group of undead and a group of barbarians attack a town of Leilon. It has a section of staging the combat with the PCs making decisions to gain 'victory points'. With the 3 sided battle, they must choose to react to certain places or one group might get into town. Both groups are after a McGuffin in town, but you might be able to modify it.

Also, if you’re going for the vibe of the film and its many, many descendants, you’re probably looking at a final battle defending the town. Consider weaponizing the town to assist the party by giving them lair actions.

“The Siege of Katy’s Freehold” is an AD&D adventure from Dungeon #32 (1992) that has, if i remember correctly, a focus on PCs leading squads in the defense of a frontier fortress from rampaging ogres and goblinoids

Not sure if it’d help with what you you’re looking for but it came to mind and figured I’d mention it.
