Shades and Antimagic Field

What happens when a Shade (Forgotten Realms) interacts with an Antimagic Field?

Does it die, does it go to the shadow plane, does it loose its incorporeal form, what happens?

I rule 0'ed this and said that the Shades are a natural element on Faerun (in my game, they are), and thus being incorporeal was their original form, and therefore the Antimagic didn't affect it.

Can someone clarify this one for me, assuming Shades are NOT outsiders, and their natural form is incorporeal.

A Shade is an interesting creature, in terms of rules.

Notice that nowhere does it say that the transformation to "Shade" makes a human an outsider, vis versa or anything.

In my opinion, you did the right thing. A Shade would lose many of its spell-like abilities within an anti-magic field... but it would not die, or suffer any other effects, anymore than a Drow or a Durugar would.

I'm hoping that "Races of Faerun" gives us some nifty new details on Shades.

I'm playing a Shade fighter in our latest campaign. He's very nifty. Fortunately for me, I created him when I thought that the Shade was only a +2 ECL penalty... not a +5 as the errata indicates... my DM said it'd be too much of a pain to have a character with a +5 in his campaign, so he let me keep it the way it is. We don't fight very often in darkness anyways... but when we do... my god he's invincible.
