Did Lionel tell Lex what I think he told Lex?!?
If you mean something along the lines of "I'm going to have you killed, son," then yes.

I've got some mixed feelings about this episode. I liked a lot of it, but there were some bits that seemed odd to me.

* Was it Lex who tried to have Lionel shanked in the shower? And if it was, Lex is turning out to be the most incompetent manipulator I've ever seen. He must have picked the only con in the prison who can't figure out that when you shank a guy you don't stop sticking him until he's dead.

* Is anyone else bored by Lana's scenes? I don't dislike her when she's interacting with Clark, but I can't manage to make myself care about her scenes with her boyfriend. Indeed, I find them annoying because they take time away from other characters I'd rather watch.

Ah, well. It was still a fun episode, and now we've got Chloe back. :D

I thought that too; when they showed the guard being gone, I thought "are they really going to kill Lionel?". The only thing I can think of that would explain the incompetence was that Lex was sending a message to his father. He knew that Chloe would testify, so rather than killing him, he wanted the satisfaction of having a guilty verdict against his father.

Yeah, I'm starting to get bored too. The "I can't tell you, etc" thing is getting old.

Also, I find Clark's not really watching himself much, hiding his powers. Was that 3 times he rushed off during this episode? I thought he would be a bit more careful, even if he was worried about Chloe.

I think there is another player in the game and I think it is Lois' father but this may be becaue the mutant of the week looked to be wearing a uniform and I think hints that Father Lane and Lionel could have a connection, that has moved to Lane and Lex, can you say military contract! ;)

Lionel getting stabbed - Lionel may have been behind it himself, to get out of his cell and have a doctor work on him, that A) implanted something or B) removed something.

Lana - Lois is in the picture now, focus focus focus, Lois is the hottie, the love of Clark's life, time for less Lana more Lois!

I did have some issues but not many.

I thought exactly the same thing. No way he would have lived had Lex set a it on him. But if he needed to get into a less secure location so Terminator Boy could come see him, well, Lionel is just the kind of man who would have himself stabbed.

There's Another Possibility...

Lionel had himself shanked, to get out of the maximum security prison, and into the lower-security medical center! Didja notice the KNIFE his attacker used? That was no metal-shop shank! That was a store-bought!

Also, keep in mind that "Transference" is coming up, in which
Lionel fully expects to switch bodies with Lex... so why care what happens to his dying one, anyway? (Of course, things don't go as planned, and he gets put into Clark's, instead!)

Hey Steveroo could you please hide the future spoilers? Some people are expecting only spoilers from this weeks episode and not upcoming things.

Thank goodness I saw Russ' edit - I was about to do that myself, and mess his up! :D

What I found interesting was Lois Lane being a darned Special Forces agent when attacked physically - she beats up a guy with army training?!?! Yeah, I know her dad probably trained her - or she SPENT time in the army, but that's stretching it to me.

What I also didn't expect was that they were going to introduce Chloe so quickly! Oh well - more trouble in the Kent life. :)

I enjoyed Lois kicking the henchmans butt, I figured she knew it was her dad's guys and had an edge, they knowing she was dad's girl and she knowning they knew. :)

Chloe and Lois tag teaming Clark is better than Lana and Chloe.
