I don't think that next season will be the last. Show is going strong, definatly one of the most whatched shows on the WB. I am anticipating the season finale, and to speculate on what will be happening next season.

The show was always planed as a five year arc, all of high school and the some after.

Pete is gone but is it just for the summer, maybe he returns for school but then he was only there as a plot hook to build sups pyche, the hero alone. Still say Chloe is going to turn up dead, more than likely next year and the actress will come on the show as Lois when Clark goes off to college.

Eh, I don't think that Clark will go to college on the show... he'll probably just take a year off from schooling to work or something. I mean, if he went to, say, Metropolis U, there wouldn't be much use to call the show "Smallville".

Don't think Chloe will die either... at least not in the next season. With Luthor in prison, she's safe for now. Besides, she's the only one of Clark's circle of friends who's still around (assuming that Lana really does leave for Paris). However, I wouldn't be surprised if she bites the dust up towards the end of the last season.
