I was also not impressed with the Green Arrow actor.
Right now, we've only seen him in two scenes and not a lot in the way of dialogue. He's still got a few more episodes for his character to develop.

As for the episode itself, every episode that Clark gains a new power can largely be written off as a "filler" episode since it rarely advances the season meta-plot. This might be the first time that elements of the episode lead into the meta-plot in the form of introducing Ollie. Besides, it was a fun episode, and the cast's attitude (except for Lex and Lana) reflected that.

Previously I was ambivalent, but after last night's episode, I hope the writers find a way to write Lana out of the series. Kruek isn't that impressive an actress (you can tell Welling's grown since the series stasrted, but she hasn't), and her scenes are only slighlty less painful than getting a tooth drilled w/o novacaine.

I like the discover new powers episodes. Of course we rarely get them so they are fun. What is Green Arrow's story from the comics? I never read anything that explained his background. Is Smallville even close on it or are they just redefining him?
