So many products - School me

Hi folks,

I have the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, Bestiary, and the Campaign Setting...as well as one small paperback book that details Osirion.

Thing is, with the Chronicles, Companions, and Adventure Paths....as well as what was released under 3.5...and what has been released for the Pathfinder RPG, I'm a little confused by all of the different products.

Would someone mind explaining the various product lines? What are the Chronicles? What are the Companions?

Out of the products that are out there, which ones would you guys say are 'must haves' out or the Chronicles/Companions/Adventure Paths?

Thanks.

I'm an Adventure Path subscriber for two reasons:

1. They are IMO very good adventures - well written and with a wealth of additional stuff in each installment (a fiction piece, background on the area, new monsters, hooks for further adventures, etc). My caveat is that I started with Legacy of Fire, so I haven't read the previous ones. Also, I've gotten the first four Council of Thieves adventures but as I'm currently playing in them I'm holding off on reading them. (So I guess what I'm saying is that my expressed opinion is based on only one AP, and what I've played of another).

2. AP subscription gets you 15% off most everything Paizo sells (non-Paizo PDFs being the only exception).

I'm also an RPG subscriber.

Otherwise, I buy PDFs of the Chronicles and Companions I want (which so far is all of them). It's all great stuff - I've yet to be disappointed with any of it.

Classic Monsters Revisited is in the Chronicles line, and I'd say it's pretty much a must-have. Nearly all fluff, too.

To start with the Chronicles line vs the Companions line was a bit muddled. However, I think they have tried to focus on:

- Chronicles are slightly crunchier and meant for DMs. They are the "typical" supplement books.

- Companions are focused more on fluff and players. They are meant for players to better be able to play a character from the covered region, city, organization, etc.

At least that is my understanding...
