So, you're going to the nuthouse today...what book are you taking?

Okay, I like these kind of threads that basically boil down to what book you love the best? If you were to go off in La-La Land and never game ever, what's the one rpg book you'll never, never get rid of.

For me, it would have to be probably the 1st edition Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. I loooooved that campaign setting and it really set off my gaming hobby.

Possibly the AD&D1 DMG. Or maybe the campaign booklet from the Greyhawk boxed set (1983). I'd have to give this choice a long thought.

I would give *all* of them away, to those who might actually use them (or, perhaps, sell some of them). It would be hideously depressing to have all my RPG books just lying around. . . forever. . . (well, until the end, I guess).

Sorry, but I'd have to say 'none'. :-S

Ptolus :D

I could always use it as a weapon to break out! (or get my spoon back from that thieving Carl in the next cell! Damn you Carl! Damn you!!)

Probably a thief's handbook of some sort, as it would provide me with information on cons, lockpicking, and bluffing, all of which would be necessary to get out of the nuthouse.

"One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest", of course!:p

Oh, you meant RPG book...

Well then, if I'm going to the nuthouse, it would have to be Call of Cthulu.;)

Well, it wouldn't be a RPG book because those aren't allowed. I might be able to fast-talk a copy of Ptolus in because it looks like a textbook.

An easily-disguised how-to book on escaping from asylums, preferably (major topics include lockpicking, improvising tools, fooling psychiatrists, and faking that you took your meds). Something with a "by MacGuyver" byline, maybe? ;)

I recently acquired the hardcover collected edition of the Arduin Trilogy and find that it has tons of entertaining rules bits, fluff, and setting info. So probably that. Or the Perilous Lands box set for Powers & Perils.
