The OSE adventure continues.
PCs returned to town, and came back to explore Level 2 of the mines. The magic-user was surprised by 8 skeletons emerging from a secret room, and went down but the cleric saved him with his last cure light wounds. After the fight PCs elected to hide in the dusty skeleton room. They find another torn page from the destroyed diary they found early in the dungeon. There is an undead creature that can raise the dead in the lower levels of the mines...

The OSE adventure continues.
Trevick almost bit the dust!
You said in an earlier post here that the dungeon is the story but do you ever come up with something that isn't in the adventure book? Or do you stick to what's in there. I suppose each room is another clue to the mystery. Hmm... it's making me think. I need to play something like this so I can understand it better. How much of the adventure do you read before you start?

I didn't read anything. It works because it is old school. Old school dungeon crawl modules needed to be read front to back to be understood by the GM. If I learned something only the GM should know, my PCs don't know it. The need to discover it during the exploration of the dungeon.

Changes: When the PCs went back to town the first time, they told the mayor they had found the missing silver ore stolen by the goblins. There is nothing in the module about how to handle that. So, I decided 3 dwarves with six mules equipped with baskets returned to the abandoned mines to pick up the ore and bring it back to town. I only add details that make the story more believable for me and in relation to what my PCs would do. They are Lawful. It made sense they would do that, instead of maybe steal the ore and trying to sell it in another town, if they were Chaotic.

Gre. I always get into this thrashing loop: Ironsworn for the setting defaults and Delve, or Starforged for the system improvements? I hate my brain sometimes. I could jump to Sundered Isles but I want simpler start, I think.
