spiked armor twf

In a recent thread on Power guide to rogue it was mentioned to use a weapon and shield (heavy darkwood because of the no armor penalty) and armor spikes for TWF. I hadn't ever thought of the idea and was thoroughly intrigued by it. I've been thinking about it a lot lately and enjoying the images. Recently I read a character writeup that was ridiculously good at disarm attempts and made me think about the spike armor some more. Specifically, if the rogue in question got his normal weapon disarmed from himself, could he TWF with the suit of armor by itself? It isn't mentioned in the description, but logic would lend itself to the thought that it could, at least how I envision it.

However, I'd like to hear what others think.

My gut reaction is "egads, no!" to TWF w/ spiked armor. :)
Could TWF w/ shield/spikes if weapon got disarmed, though.
It's not really broken or anything, but I'm pretty sure it's not allowed by the raw.

why's the gut reaction egads? The benefit is un-disarmable weapons. Spiked armor doesn't have a good crit multiplier and isn't the prime choice for TWF. But in any case, I asked for opinions and I got 'em, so thanks :)

I still think it would be too bad, but I'll have to think more on it.

Two-Weapon Fighting [General]
You can fight with a weapon in each hand.

Armor Spikes
You can have spikes added to your armor, which allow you to deal extra piercing damage on a successful grapple attack....You can also make a regular melee attack (or off-hand attack) with the spikes, and they count as a light weapon in this case.

What's the problem?

Armor spikes are perfect for that weapon that is not a weapon, doesn't necessarily use your hands, feet, head, teeth.

I also recommend it if you're going for a natural attack build. Armor spikes count as a marial weapon, and if you can also get a slam/bite/claw/claw... That's your full BaB + 4 natural attacks! Sweet. Natural attacks can be better than TWF in some cases.

You can use the spikes as part of your TWF attacks, but you cannot wield the same weapon multiple times in order to dual-wield it.

For instance, you cannot use unarmed strike as both your primary and secondary weapon while TWF. Similarly, you cannot use armor spikes and armor spikes as your primary and secondary weapons.

True.

However, if you take off one gauntlet, you could use unarmed and armor spikes!

Ok, a minor point there. Still. Additionally, although it doesn't say, What about gauntlets and armor spikes? Could gauntlets be one light weapon and armor spikes the other? What if it's a spiked gauntlet?> Asked mainly because I see gauntlets as pretty much a part of armor, hence of armor spikes.

So a druid could get, say, spiked hide armor for medium quadrapeds, shift into brown bear form, have someone put the armor on him, and go to town with a Spike + Bite/Claw/Claw routine? Holy cow!

Well, could you consider Armor Spikes more akin to a doubleweapon, like a quarterstaff? So that the armor spikes on one armor could be your primary and the armor spikes on your other arm the off-hand?

That's what I'm driving at...that I think armor spikes should/could be considered a double weapon.
