Additional pieces of info: Faith killed more than one human being - she also killed a professor of geology that the Mayor wanted dead. She is currently serving time in an LA prison for her crimes. Cordelia began turning into a stronger person at the end of season 1. She was thrown into having visions 24-7 by Wolfram and Hart, until Angel had them some up with a solution to stop it. She saw in her condition many people in pain, in trouble, and needing help - it galvanized her to Angel's mission more than ever. The recent storyline ("Saint Cordy's Acension") has revealed this to be a plot by the Powers that Be to find a worthy champion who is willing to be strong and take risks for the greater good. She has endured the visions for 3 years, she has risked death by keeping them, and we willing to be turned half-demon in order to keep them for the good of others. She was ascended (supposedly) right at the end of the last episode. I myself thought the whole "Ascension" idea sucked and put a damper on the whole season's happenings. I desparately hope this was some plot by an enemy to hurt Angel and separate him so that his Son Conner could exact revenge on him. I honestly hope this isn't reveled to be by design of the PTB, or I will be sorely ticked off at the "callous face" that they have been increasingly given. Good luck with catching up!
