SR and Web

My group has found Web to be a great spell for quick escapes. But now they're running into more and more creatures with SR.

If Web is cast, centred on a creature with SR, and the Caster Check fails, is it still the case that the creature is surrounded by lots of sticky webs and will still have to work its way out, as if it had merely passed a saving throw?

My goodness...having only now reached this level of play, and thus SR monsters...we never even noticed that last line to every spell!!!!

Conjuration basically tells SR to go and die in a fire.

Not all Conjourations....just like, 99.9% of them.

Actually, I can only think of one off the top of my head, and thats Stun Ray from Spell Compendium. And that one REALLY should have been Evocation.
