Staff of return ?

Hi all,

I need to be able to teleport a staff to a PC's location but can't seem to find a weapon special ability or a spell or anything that do that ... The reason is my artificer (Eberron) if deprived of his staff would be in deep trouble so I would need a backup soulution ... any ideas ?

A Message and Teleport Object from a friendly caster is the easiest option.

If the party are members of a guild or have some sort of home base, it would be a good idea for them to invest in a pair of ring gates. One gate is left at home, the other is carried with the party. They can then easily get access to anything they have stashed away back home.

The downsides to this are that you must have a base of operations that is protected and staffed by people they trust (getting ambushed or betrayed through the portal is a risk), the cost of the rings generally means a party needs to pool their money to get value from them, and the weight restriction can be ... restricting.
