Star Wars d20 "Strikes Back?"

Sorry for the lame thread title... Anyhoo, I just read this on Gaming Report:

Amazon.com has a listing for a Star Wars Role Playing Game Saga Edition for March 2007.

After the Amazon.com entry was posted on the WotC message boards, both Gary M. Sarli (the author of WotC's "Jedi Counseling" web column) and Rodney Thompson (who is listed on Amazon as an author of the book) confirmed that the product exists.

This seems to fit with the description of the Star Wars Miniatures seminar for GenCon 2006:
Want to find out what's coming up for the Star Wars Miniatures Game? Come to this discussion with the Star Wars Miniatures design team and find out the latest information on the starships set, competitive play, the RPG, some surprise announcements, and more. [emphasis added]

This is the first time that the RPG has been mentioned in the description of one of WotC's GenCon seminars since 2003.

Here's a link to the listing on Amazon. I wonder if this will be a one shot deal or if they will be supporting an entire new line again. I'd be interested to know if they are just doing this to keep hold of the license. Anyone hear anything at Origins?

It's already some time ago that an official announcement regarding the d20 Star Wars RPG was said to happen at GenCon. As WotC did not take part at Origins, any further insight from Origins is rather unlikely.

Power of the Jedi has been reprinted and is now in stores. The Dark Side Sourcebook is scheduled foir re-release shortly. Both of these products had been discontinued quite a while ago. So it seems the rpg is coming back.

Well, the division of the EN World forums is somewhat awkward. If you want to talk about D&D, GURPS, HERO, or WEG Star Wars, this is the right place. If it's d20 Star Wars, Arcana Unearthed, Grim Tales or Conan, it's the next forum. Don't ask.

But.... I still find it on the shelves of some gamestores and chain bookstores. It's a decent book, but not worth anywhere near $100.

Are you sure? I've never seen one. And $100 is a relatively cheap offer. Most books went for nearly $200. When I posted this a few months or even a year ago, some of the EN Worlders said the same as you and wanted to go buy those titles and sell them for a nice profit. There was hardly any feedback later on, but the only one I got was that the book was, indeed, gone.

But it's nice that it's available for reasonable money again. It's one of the more central books for Star Wars.
