I think these are excellent observations. However painful, realizing that a game you really like just doesn’t fit the table(s) you have is a major GM skill.1) They don't want to be involved in the world-building process.
2) They don't want to do "boring" stuff (i.e. "non-adventuring stuff.")
3) The Powered by the Apocalypse engine is too GM-fiat based, and the rules too wishy-washy for them.
4) Numbers don't go brrr.
5) Not fantastic enough.
This game is amazing. Just going through the playbook questions for session zero, my game has 30 NPCs with names and traits and I didn't create a single one. Plus a half dozen good hooks and another half dozen potential hooks. And I only have three players.
I am definitely stealing this method of PC creation for any game that has a central hub.
