D&D General Suggestions for good physical D&D battlemats?

What are your favorite physical D&D battlemats for use at the table?

I have a couple Paizo flipmats I really like and have used, but they occasionally have issues staying flat.

I have the old d20 Mongoose Star Ship Troopers terrain maps from a boxed set and a big WotC multipack set of battlemaps that I like and have gotten good use out of but I hate refolding maps.

I have some tiles and cut out cardboard map component stuff which are configurable and can be added to other stuff but I generally find them too fiddly for me to usually use.

All of this is stuff I got years ago.

If on the lookout for stuff now are there any you would recommend? Stuff you have used and like?

I've had this one by Tidyboss for about 5 or 6 years.
Pros:
It's lasted through over 150 game sessions easily.
Pretty big, and dry erase
The plastic strips hold it very flat, no issues with it rolling up during play
The tube is a good place to store my markers & eraser

Cons:
Some of the edges have gotten dinged up and I had to repair a couple of tears with clear packing tape
I use the tan & green maps 95% of the time. The beach map is too situational and the dark brown is a bit hard to see when someone's attending via Discord.

I use the battlestems/monster fight club mats. They are mousepad quality in come in different colors (double sided i some cases)
These are great!

A friend uses them. I don’t see them in stock at their store so if uuu see em get em.

They are not dry/wet erase, fyi.

I have a vinyl gridded Chessex mat and a large 3'x4' sheet of plexi that I lay over it.

This not only allows me to use dry-erase on the sheet as needed for quick maps... but I also can create maps using Dungeon Tiles and then lay the plexi on top of it all so they don't move around... plus I can draw more intricate dry-erase maps on the plexi using a reverse image to copy from and the Chessex grid below, and then flip the entire plexi over (re-aligning the grid squares) so that the dry erase map is on the underside of the plexi and thus doesn't rub itself off when we use the map.

Flip maps work great if you can keep them stored open and flat. Something like this kept under a bed can work: https://www.amazon.com/Nicpro-Portf...lueprint+carrying+case&qid=1777400428&sr=8-42

Loke Book of Battlemaps are good. Many varieties.
Chessex battlemats.
Had access to a large format printer and printed out a 3'x5' square grid and separate hex grid sheets. Laid under a sheet of plastic, worked great for years.

Chessex wet erase remain the gold standard as far as I am concerned. I own 4. One 23" x 26", two 34.5" x 48" and other of that size that is green on one side and blue on the other. I like having more than one so I can just lay them atop each other, or have a smaller one I can move around on the table over a larger one for when battle takes the party into more than one area simultaneously.

Oh and I also bought a 200 foot roll of 1-inch grid paper and have been cutting portions from it for pre-drawn maps for years!
