Superman: Still Awesome

You might like the Absolute Superman comic, if you haven't already checked it out. It's not quite this but it's also not not this.

I bought and read the first trade paperback. I was genuinely excited when I realised it's written by Jason Aaron.

Really enjoyed it. A very cool take on Superman.

I also got the first Absolute Wonder Woman TP and enjoyed that too.

Now I gotta have a long hard think and decide if, after a life time, I might start reading DC on the regular.

I loved Absolute WW. Absolute Superman a bit less, and Absolute Batman a bit less after that.

I do think DC has done quite well with a lot of stories recently. Anything by Tom Taylor (Nightwing, Superman Son of Kal-El) and quite a lot of Waid (World’s Finest, Justice League Unlimited). Both are great at modern four-colour similar to the recent Superman film.

I found myself wondering; what if the thread title was the title for an upcoming Superman movie. What would it be about? Would it be Logan like and old Supes goes on one last mission? Batman is in the wheelchair? Conner Kent's Superboy is found?

I don't know if it's in tpb yet, but my favorite of the Absolute universe is Absolute Martian Manhunter. It's weird in a very trippy way, like having a panel that's blank except for a character surrounded by dots and the reader is asked to help contain them by connecting the dots to make a cage.
