A blurb from the synDCcon organizers:

Welcome to synDCon 2010SM
The Washington, DC Area's Premiere Gaming Convention, 2/12-15/2010**

synDCon 2010, presented by The Gamers' Syndicate, LLC, is the Washington, DC area’s newest and largest table-top gaming convention, offering board games, role-playing games, miniature war games, and collectible card games. In addition, synDCon 2010 will offer special events, such as seminars. For more information on our next event, please visit our Next Event page.
From what I can tell so far (and that's hazy), it's looking like close to 300 folks may be attending this, more or less. They're expecting more, I believe.

** And yes, yes, I KNOW that it's scheduled during Valentine's Day weekend. That might make a difference to those who are into the Hallmark-sponsored holidays. :heh:

They're going to be recruiting folks to run "official games," i.e., whatever RPG a GM wants to run, as an official slot -- anyone here interested? If so, I've told the con organizers I'd funnel folks their way -- I'm considering running a game or two.

Official slots are as follows:

Slot 1: Friday, 1pm-6pm
Slot 2: Friday, 7pm-12am
Slot 3: Saturday, 8am-1pm
Slot 4: Saturday, 1pm-6pm
Slot 5: Saturday, 7pm-12am
Slot 6: Sunday, 8am-1pm
Slot 7: Sunday, 1pm-6pm
Slot 8: Sunday, 7pm-11pm
Slot 9: Monday, 8am-1pm
Slot 10: Monday, 1pm-6pm

(Monday is a Federal holiday, Presidents' Day, I believe).

Maybe we can have an Enworld "meet up" I'm running Pathfinder organized play mods and a home brew d20 Call of Cthulhu/Delta Green mod.

synDCon 2010 Information

This is Rob Bodine, one of the organizers for synDCon. I wanted to answer your questions raised in this thread.

@madwabbit: We can actually handle over twice that number. Our capacity far exceeds our expected number of participants in our first year, but I'm guessing we'll actually get closer to 500 attendees assuming we can get the judges we need. We've got official industry presences for Alderac Entertainment Group (special event held at only 4 cons nationwide), Steve Jackson Games (official Munchkin tournament for this region), and Green Ronin, as well as a retail vendor and some other vendors. Our site is the best site I've ever seen for a gaming convention, so everyone will be comfortable. We're in a pretty good position to have a large convention, though not GenCon large quite yet. :^)

@qstor: Get me the details on your Cthulhu mod ASAP (both game details and when you want to run it). Why? Because . . .

BTW, our registration system is at Welcome to the synDCon 2010 Player and Volunteer Signup System!. Judge sign up is live as of this moment, and player sign up should go live tonight (Wednesday, 11/25) by 10pm EST.

If you have any other questions, give me a shout at rob@synDCon.net or visit the website at synDCon - The Washington, DC Area's Premiere Gaming Convention, 2/12-15/2010.

I will be one of the judges there. Currently I am scheduled to run 3 RPGA games:
 • Friday 1:00 PM: "Drawing a Blank," paragon levels 11-14.
 • Monday 9:00 AM: "Curse of the Queen of Thorns," paragon levels 11-14.
 • Monday 1:00 PM: "All the King's Men," heroic levels 7-10.
