So I'm putting together the prizes for my Pumpkin Spice RPG Contest, and one of the offerings this year will be a box of donuts (pumpkin-spiced or not, that will be up to the winner to decide.) But which gift certificate should I award?

According to Franchise Chatter, the top ten donut franchises are, in order of popularity:
  1. Dunkin' Donuts
  2. Tim Hortons
  3. Krispy Kreme
  4. Shipley Do-Nuts
  5. Duck Donuts
  6. DonutNV
  7. Randy's Donuts
  8. Voodoo Donut
  9. Daylight Donuts
  10. The Dapper Donut
Unfortunately, DonutNV uses a mobile food-truck model, and therefore can't/doesn't offer gift certificates...which means it didn't make the poll. But the other nine all look like solid choices!

Please vote for up to 3 of your favorites, and tell us all about your favorite deep-fried confections below. The winning establishment will be featured as a prize in my upcoming creativity contest.

Woops! Forgot one. Sorry about that, Krispy Kreme fans--I've fixed the poll.

Here in Portland Oregon, we only have #1, #8, and #9, so those are the ones that get my vote. (Back in Oklahoma, where I grew up, they also had #9 but it wasn't great.)

We used to get a lot of tourists coming into Portland specifically for Voodoo Donut, and they're...fine. But for my dollar, Coco Donuts is the better choice. If you find yourself in Portland, look them up.

Shipley's. For some reason it won't let me click an option and click Cast Vote. (EDIT: Finally got it done... Dark Mode was making it hard to see the checkmark!)

The only donuts available in my area are Daylght, and they are stupidly overpriced for what you get. But I lived down the street from a Shipley's for 20 years and they were amazing. And wonderful kolaches, too!

I must be honest: the only one of these I have ever even heard of (but never frequented) is "Dunkin' Donuts". I might be mistaken, but I don't think they even have any of the other ones over in my part of the world.
(edit -- and perhaps no longer a "Dunkin' Donuts" either).
