Yes, I don't think they ever said that V1 did anything more than making the person immortalI thought the V1 angle was more about immortality than personal power for Homelander, playing into his entire god-king complex. Overall I enjoyed the season, and the final episode landed well for me. It felt like it wrapped things up nicely.

marketing be marketing, and as for Butcher telling everyone to run...what else are you gonna do when the guy you want to kill was just granted immortality and invincibility to your plan? They did kinda of sell it with Butcher yelling run in E6.
And the marketing poster of Homelander in space. And the flying super at Whitehouse. Homeland fight was essentially the Herogasm fight 2.0.
Did they? Honestly, Deep stop being interesting by end of season 1. The character was basically a caricature joke they beat to hell and back. Then, finally they just dispatch him after all this time... I felt just like Homelander with not enough respect to even care about his dying.Homelander and deep got somewhat satisfying send offs.
My number one rule, dont ever kill the dog!The dog died.![]()

Speaking of Homelander, what a let down. They built up a powder keg just to make some wimpy dick jokes and a quick dispatch. I mean, yes im aware that The Boys is a dick and fart joke vehicle, but cmon. They built up this egomanic pyscho and just poof. At this stage there has been dozens maybe even hundreds of quick gruesome deaths they just dont have any impact anymore.
It would have been really interesting if they had the Homelander and Deep falling out early in the final season. Homelander is defeated, loses his powers, and has to be saved by The Deep! The one character he loathes more than anyone is the only person nice to him. Folks see him on the street they spit on him, insult him, but Deep never leaves his side. That would have been fun.
They didnt get much right, IMO, but I think they nailed Frenchie and Kimiko. They also hit a homerun with Hughey and Butcher.
My number one rule, dont ever kill the dog!
Pretty weak storyline that felt resolved a long time ago. Deep had no reason to be around for at least 3 seasons.Well they foreshadowed the fish plus revenge for Starlight S1.
Meh, I’m not a source purist if you can improve you should do so.Homeowners finish was a tribute to the comics.
They tied it all up.Season overall was lackluster but didnt fall apart as such.
