Probabbly been asked before but....

Full Mounted Attack
At 6th level, the mounted cavalier may attack as a standard action when his mount moves more than 5 feet (assuming an opponent exists to be attacked), rather than as a partial action.

What exactly does this do?

It means that your mount can move 50' forward, you can take your FULL attack action (say three attacks), and if you happen to have ride by attack, your mount can move 50' further before you end your turn.

Or your mount could make a double move 100' foward, and you could at the end of that move take your FULL attack action.

Or arguably, if you had ride by attack, you could have your mount take a 5' step, make an attack, have the mount take another 5' step, and make another attack, out to the limit of your attacks.

In other words it is a really nifty ability, but probably one I'd prefer to see at the end of a mounted combat feat chain.

The way it's written, it allows you to do absolutely nothing, as the terms for 3e were not all ironed out when Sword and Fist was written.

And on top of that, it wasn't corrected in the errata.

But according to the FAQ and some Sage letters, it is SUPPOSED to allow you to do what you'd think it says. Horse moves and you still get all three or however many of your attacks once you are within range of your target.

Yeah, that's poorly worded. It should read something like this:

At 6th level, the mounted cavalier may make a full attack even when his mount moves more than 5 feet (assuming an opponent exists to be attacked), rather than only a standard action.

thats for the clarification. I just read it last night and though "whats the difference between doing an attack as a standard action rather than partial action"
