The City of Brass

Epic Commoner
Are there any adventures or sourcebooks that have more information on this city. I keep hearing it being mentioned, but has scant data on it. I consulted the great sage Google and so far I get lots of pictures of Magic The Gathering cards. I checked The Inner Planes sourcebook from way back then and nothing more than a paragraph on it. I saw the thread on the the Codex of Infinite Planes (and just re-read the Planescape article coinicidentily mentioned about it) and reading the Epic Handbook. Both mention this city.

Thanks for any help.

I plan to have my players experience all the "fun" stuff in the multiverse. They will be the envy of the Sensates when they are done.

it's a city of efrit and is ruled over by a great efrit sultan. What else is there to know? Lots of wish-granters, nobody to grant wishes to. The place is epic for a reason, it's also mentioned in the DMG as being part of the elemental plain of fire, and it's mentioned in the monster manual as well.

Presumably, it's built in a very "arabian nights" manner, (since it's main denezins are Efrit) but with fire and lava everywhere.

Dunno if this will help...

The best source is the 2e Secrets of the Lamp boxed set (by Wolfgang Baur), which had a poster map and many adventure cards, among other things. It also describes the other genie capitals, albeit more briefly.

Second best is the 3e Planar Handbook, which presents an abridged version of the Secrets of the Lamp information.

Kenzer came out with a City of Brass book, co-written by Rob Kuntz, which has some interesting ideas in it, although it's on the silly side.

Y'know, though, it's not all that silly. Matter of fact, it was far more serious than much of the HackMaster line (which this sourcebook is for). It's definitely worth a look for anyone interested in the CoB.

That said, I'm still looking forward to Necromancer Games take on the City of Brass. I thought it was due out towards the end of this year, but maybe it's next. Regardless, NG has done a lot of really top-notch material, especially the awesome Wilderlands (which I helped out with, a bit), so I'm confident their CoB will be a winner.

It's a big city full of skyscrapers with a stock market. And yet Chicago and New York are very different cities ...

Heh, but the city of brass is, (if you believe the material) the ONLY city on the elemental plane of fire.
