I've never seen that either.
I used to see a lot of horde / hoard errors, so much so that I was beginning to wonder whether American English just didn't use "hoard" at all, but apparently it's a perfectly cromulent word.
There was one adventure where a dragon was described as "usually sleeping with his horde". I guess it explains why there were so many half-dragons in 3e.
