The son of a god, Colbey was raised in ignorance of his birthright. Brought up by a race of the greatest swordsman in this world, he surpassed them all. He became the keeper of balance, the watcher of Law and Chaos, the immortal swordsman.
He practiced without pause or fail from the day he was able to grasp a sword's hilt. He became a pirate raider, learning how to ride the waves. He was a knight of Erythane, and a superb horseman with few equals. He was the western wizard, with a mental strength unmatched.
His life is dedicated to the law of his tribe's customs, who revile cowards and seek to die in battle to reach Valhalla, who are required to fight to their limits regardless of the situation. Yet he has also wielded the physical manifestation of chaos to hold off a time when law reigns unopposed.
Colbey is a creation of Mickey Zucker Reichert, featured in the Renshai Chronicles. And while I can't speak of other books by that author, the Renshai books are an excellent portrayal of a world that is determined by the absolutes of good, evil, law, and chaos--and what happens when those absolutes go away.
So, in the spirit of other stat-em'-ups, here is a challenge for ya all... stat a man who is the greatest swordsman in a world filled with swords, who has near (but not quite) unparalleled psionic abilities, with the ability to rage like a barbarian, who wields two long swords like a ranger, who rides a horse like a paladin, and refuses to wear armour or use ranged weapons.
The books are also filled with archetypes of DnD characters, such as bards, rouges, and paladins. If anyone familiar with the series wants to try to stat up Tae, Matrinka (a noble w/ ranks in healer), Garn, et al, great. I'll try to get one or two in as well.
Give it a try
