Tam picks the staff up from the floor and looks with interest at it, even falling back into his jewelers practice of appraising its value besides what it might/can do.

Kleborn quickly shoulders his bow, and picks his shield back up. Looking at his shield he says, "Oh, how I have missed you." He then turns to the others and says "All right then, I agree, let's be quick about it."
Thallok nods in agreement, also putting his bow away.

After a brief conversation, the whole party moves back down the hallway to the main landing room, i.e., the room where the elevator from above landed. Lenny says, "If I remember correctly, the gems that are inset into the sarcophogi are set in specific orientations as to be able to focus light in a particular manner. I remember how disappointed Tam was when he realized that we needed to leave them where they are, ha ha. :ROFLMAO: We should try to see if there is anywhere that looks like a receptacle which the keys will fit into."

GM:
As a reminder, here are the descriptions and illustrations for that room:
After descending what seems like hundreds of feet, the elevator platform comes to rest in the southwest corner of a chamber. The chamber is about 80 feet wide and 60 feet long, with a 20-foot-high ceiling. Stone doors are centered in the north and east walls. The other two walls are covered with murals.

Along the south wall, nestled partially in an alcove, is a stone statue of a gynosphinx crouched in a classic position. The statue wears a stone crown set with numerous gemstones. An inscription is at the statue’s base. Positioned in front of the statue is a stone throne, perhaps 10 feet high, occupied by a stone statue of a barrel-chested humanoid body with a male leonine head. Its hands rest over the throne’s arms. The statue’s fingers are curled as if they should be holding something, but they are empty.

Flanking the throne is a pair of huge stone sarcophagi shaped like sphinxes lying on their backs, arms folded on their chests in a peaceful resting posture. The one on the right is an androsphinx; the one on the left is a gynosphinx. Each sarcophagus is inset with numerous gems at random locations on the lid.

Timekeeping Note:

It took 2 rounds to ferry everyone back to the hallway.
It took 1 round for the brief conversation.
It took 4 rounds to get back to the room where the elevator and sarcophagi are.

Travis says, "Uhhh... before we start messing with stuff in here, shouldn't we identify the staff like we said we were gonna do?"

Lenny replies, "Oh yeah, maybe we should."

Dewydd informs the party that he has the Identify spell memorized, and is able to cast it immediately. He pulls a pearl out of his pouch, and sits down, cross-legged, to begin examining the last key. Dewydd notes, "This will take just under an hour. I think this room is pretty safe, seeing as how we've dealt with the major, nearby threats."

Without wasting a single minute, Dewydd completes the Identify spell and informs the party of the result.

This is a simple, wooden, crooked-shaped staff, with a small blue crystal set in its tip. It functions as a +2 Shock/+2 Thundering Quarterstaff, plus can be used to cast a few destructive spells. Currently, the staff has 25 charges remaining and can cast the following spells: Sound Burst (1 Chg), Lightning Bolt 8d6 (1 Chg), Thunderclap (as Shout) (2 Chg). Moderate Evocation: CL 8th; Craft Staff, Lightning Bolt, Shout, Sound Burst; Price: 75,800 gp; Weight: 5 lbs.

Three of Dewydd's buffs (Fly, Prot. Vs. Evil, and Blur) have expired and need to be re-cast.

Kamen looks over the area again. It wasn't that long ago he was here, but now in the group he has a much better chance. Almost offhandedly, he offer "Lenny, the receptacles are the arms of the leonan."

Studying the inscription again, he looks at the group
"We expect to be alone in the audience with The Queen? I mean, the inscription says we put the keys...can anyone cast Daylight? I didn't see any of you cast clerical spells. We should create a good common cause that will hold us to it. Fortify your minds against temptation and maintain our goal."

Dewydd nods. "Yes, we should cast spells that will provide us with protections against enchantments like Sleep and Suggestion. I am also going to renew my Protection vs. Evil ward. We should also cast any protective wards that will make us more physically resilient as well."
